tenants.

They were given a ‘Dram” and a pinch of snuff.
That was the way the regiment of the 93rd
Sutherland Highlanders was enrolled into the army.
To refuse, of course, would mean that the family would be
evicted.
The 93rd was at this time the best regiment.
They had 2 companies of Grenadiers, which meant they had
enough tall, strong men to fill these 2 companies. Where the rest
of the infantry was lucky to have enough for even one company.
